Google Business Profile verification
Google business video verification failed. What now?
A rejected video is common, and you can usually record a new one. Google reviews each video, which can take up to 5 business days, and then lists what was missing under Review issues. Fix every item on that list in one new take.
Why videos get rejected
- No clear location. The video did not show a street sign, a building number, or a nearby landmark that ties it to the address on Maps.
- No proof the business exists. A storefront needs the business name on permanent signage. A service-area business needs tools, equipment, a branded vehicle, or business documents.
- No proof you manage it. Google wants to see something only staff can do: unlock the door or van, open the register or the point-of-sale screen, or show a business document with the matching name.
- The name does not match. The name on the sign or document has to match the name on your Business Profile.
- It was not one clean take. Google requires an unedited recording with no breaks, at least 30 seconds long, recorded live in your Business Profile on a phone.
Before you record again
- Open Review issues on your profile and write down every item Google lists.
- Walk the route once without recording. Plan the order: location first, then the business, then proof of management.
- Make sure the profile name, address, and category match what the camera will show. A storefront without permanent signage should be set up as a service-area business.
- Keep other people's faces out of the shot, and cover bank, tax, and ID numbers on any document.
Service-area and home-based businesses
If you work from home and go to customers, Google says you can film the signs and landmarks in your immediate neighborhood, then show your tools, workspace, or branded vehicle, then prove you manage the business, for example by unlocking a branded van or showing a permit, invoice, or utility bill in the business name. Do not list a home address publicly if customers do not come to you.
What not to do
- Do not make a second profile for the same business.
- Do not film someone else's storefront, a coworking lobby, or a virtual office.
- Do not upload a clip recorded earlier. Google requires live capture in the app.
